Kawaii in Manila 2 : Dress Code FAQ

 Hi everyone!

We have been getting a lot of inquiries regarding what to wear and what not to wear on the Kawaii in Manila 2 convention. (=´∀`)

So here’s a simple Q&A that we hope will clear things up a bit! (๑>ᴗ<๑)

Dress Code FAQ

♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

Q: What is/are the dress code/s for Kawaii in Manila 2?
A: Three C’s: Casual (at the least), comfortable, cute. In accordance with our goal to spread kawaii all around, we encourage attendees to wear something that will express their love for (the) kawaii (lifestyle).
We also advice everyone to wear something you feel comfortable and confident in! (。・ω・。)

♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

Q: Is cosplay allowed?
A: As cosplay (costume play) is also a part of the kawaii culture, yes it is allowed. ✿ However, we want to make it clear that Kawaii in Manila 2 is NOT a cosplay convention, which means unlike other conventions, it does not only focus on cosplay as one part of the culture. We also want to emphasize that there won’t be any cosplay competitions/activities on the event program. (⌒-⌒ )v
Cosplayers are also advised to wear something comfortable to them, while also keeping in mind the theme of the event, which is “kawaii”. (*^ω^)人(^ω^*)

Q: I’m new to the kawaii culture and I don’t think I have a “kawaii” outfit. Can I still come?
A: Yes, of course!  We’re sure you’ll learn a lot about the kawaii fashion on the event~ You might even get an idea of what kawaii fashion style will suit you best! (*^ワ^*) In the mean time, just dress up with what makes you happy and comfortable, (then maybe start taking notes! ∩( >ω< )∩)

♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

Q: What if I feel cute in revealing outfits/super sexy costumes?
A: Good for you! We salute your confidence! ~ヾ(^∇^) However, severely revealing outfits/costumes (as in almost-nude!) might not be advisable for this event~ There will be kids attending the event also so it’s best if we keep things at General Patronage, eh? (ノ>▽<。)ノ

♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

Q: Is there a place where I can change outfits/costumes in?
A: Yes! The convention area has huge male and female restroom facilities you can change clothes in. Also, if you are a part of the program (model, contestant, performer), you may use the spacious dressing rooms within the area.

♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

So, that’s it for now! We hope this FAQ post answered some of your questions! We’ll try to update this if more questions pop up. Thanks! (^ω^)
